A new cultural space is now operating at Thessaloniki Airport “Makedonia”
The Ministry of Culture, the Metropolitan Organization of Museums of Visual Arts of Thessaloniki-MOMUS and Fraport Greece are pleased to announce the official opening of MOMUS Air, a new museum located at Thessaloniki Airport “Makedonia”, now operating in the airport’s departures area.
New closing time on Saturday 6 December 2025 for all MOMus venues in Thessaloniki and Athens at 14:00.
We welcome the third issue of the MOMus magazine!
The main "protagonists" in this new issue are Frida Kahlo and Giorgos Zongolopoulo; the first, on the occasion of the international exhibition with her 241 photographs that is to be presented at MOMus-Thessaloniki Museum of Photography next October for the first time in Greece, the latter on the occasion of the restoration works of his artwork "Umbrellas" that will begin in September at MOMus-Museum of Contemporary Art.
The “Greek Art Now” initiative on the Google Arts & Culture platform is an ambitious project dedicated to the digitization and international promotion of selected artworks from the collections of three major Greek museum institutions: the National Gallery – Alexandros Soutsos Museum, the National Museum of Contemporary Art (EMST), and the Metropolitan Organisation of Museums of Visual Arts of Thessaloniki – MOMus.
MOMus participates again this year in the Thessaloniki International Book Fair, the great book festival in the city, with the MOMusStand at Pavilion 14, Stand 15, and a speech event on Saturday, May 10 at 19:00, at Pavilion 15, for the presentation of the two-volume illustrated encyclopedic dictionary by Apostolos Fokion Vettas, “Scenes. Notes on the Art and Technique of Scenography”.
