SUNDAY NOVEMBER 3, 11:30 a.m. AT ELEFTHERIAS SQUARE (I. Dragoumi - Nikis Avenue)
All the citizens and Authorities are invited to participate in the Performative parade:maximal absence/guilty silence/silent apology
Thessaloniki was liberated from the Nazis on October 30, 1944, with a maximal absence of almost fifty thousand Thessalonian Jews.
The site of Eleftherias Square (a foreshadowing of the Holocaust) as the beginning, Agias Sofias Square (the liberation of Thessaloniki in the absence of our Jewish fellow citizens who were killed in the Holocaust) as the middle, and the AUTh Campus (Jewish Cemetery) as the end, form the structure of a narrative course as a trauma and, therefore, as a drama of the city of Thessaloniki. The performative parade maximal absence/guilty silence/silent apology constitutes a contingent living poetic structure of this kind of drama.
