For the seventh consecutive year, the beloved turtle of the World Slow Art Day visits MOMus-Thessaloniki Museum of Photography and invites art lovers to a different museum experience.
According to researches, the average viewing time of an artwork is approximately 29’’. We will try to observe a photograph for 10’! It may seem to be difficult, and it is special without a doubt, but we have attempted it and we have succeeded in doing so, all of us who have participated in the Museum’s corresponding action in recent years, every first Sunday of April.
Steps to our visit:
We receive a specific form and viewing instructions from the Museum’s Reception. We observe some of the selected artworks of the current exhibition “About Human”, where the SlowArt-turtle has…stopped. We discuss our experience with other visitors, enjoying our coffee and the view of the sea.
Participation is free. You can register at tel. 2310 566716 (ext. 1, Monday-Sunday 11:00-17:00). Limited participation. Priority will be respected.

What is Slow Art Day?
Slow Art Day is celebrated on the first Saturday of April in museums and art spaces around the world. The mission of the action is to encourage people to discover a work of art through slow observation. Through simple steps, museum visitors slow down the way they observe it in order to discover and connect with it. Their experience is an excellent opportunity for discussion and creative engagement.
