Panos Sklavenitis is initiating an unexpected and rather improbable performance parade, with a coming together of the different participants and worlds of his artwork #thehead, part of his participation in the central exhibition of the 8th Thessaloniki Biennale of Contemporary Art. Each individual and group will wear its own costume, performs its own rituals, in a joyous carnivalistic march through Thessaloniki’s city centre.
on a route starting from the MOMus-Museum of Contemporary Art (TIF-Helexpo premises) to the Islahane Cultural Venue - Hamidie former school of arts and crafts (2, Elenis Zografou str.).
At 17:00 in collaboration with the Islahane Cultural Venue there will be a conversation on art, politics and the meta-human in collaboration with “The Workshop for the Study of the Social body” amongst Foteini Tsimbiridou (Prof. Social Anthropology and Director of the workshop (University of Macedonia) and Christina Grammatikopoulou Dr. in History and Theory of Art (University of Macedonia) coordinated by Maria-Thalia Carras, art historian and curator of the central exhibition of the Biennale, “Being as Communion”.
